Maltby Miners Welfare Tournament

Ackworth Juniors Under 10's (last season) attended Maltby's Tournament for the very first time. Facing teams that they have never played before proved to give the boys re-newed vigour and confidence as they reached the final in a superb un-defeated run which saw them win their group.

Unfortunately, a combination of hot weather and tiredness saw them lose to a very well organised Dorothy Hyman team 1-0 in the final.

Three wins and a draw in the group put the boys through to the final. A penalty shoot-out in the semi-final saw Callum Pearce, Joshua Cook and Jack Coupland all very bravely step up and take a penalty each - all finding the net. Superstar goal-keeper Olly Arnold then saved one of his penalty's to send the boys through to the final.

A massive well done must go to all the boys - Olly Arnold, James Pearce, Joshua Cook, Jack Coupland, Mitchell Bullock, Callum Pearce, Tristan Osleton and Matty Bennett.
