On a windy cold morning our little heroes stripped off in a biting wind against two full teams. With only a squad of 8 the U6-s had one sub to play with and the age and inexperience of the squad was exposed. Playing their A team the boys went down 4-1 and despite some great cover work at the back by Luke Devine and some fantastic goalkeeping from Max Hezlegrave the result was inevitable. The only goal came from Max Godridge who, as usual, worked his socks off in every position on the field. Joe Atha (capt) set up a couple of chances from set plays but not many goal attempts were forthcoming. All credit to the lads at the final whistle who were not dismayed and despite the wind, hail and rain turned in a better performance in the second game against fresh Altofts legs. Although going down 2-1, U6"s were in control until an inspired substitution from Altofts brought on a tall, strong young man who weaved his way round the more junior players. Well done lads, you were very sporting throughout a difficult morning and thankyou to our hosts for making us so welcome.
