It was good to be playing at home after what seems an age since we last played there. Todays opponents - Cas Town are never an easy team to play but the Ackworth lads seemed well up for the challenge. The early exchanges were going Ackworths way and early pressure was applied to the Cas goal.
The first goal of the game came from Joe Tolley, who beat the off side trap to beat the keeper at the near post, the pressure continued and after several corners, Luke crossed the ball perfectly onto Jack Couplands forehead - 2 nil going in at half time.
New recruit James Roebuck was introduced into the back 4 at half time and he made a solid debut performance. The Ackworth lads took their foot off the gas a bit in the second half and Cas were unlucky not to pull a couple of goals back after some one on ones with Cal who came out victorious.
Late on in the second half, Luke took an early throw in over the heads of the Cas defence perfectly into the path of Jack who waited for the ball to drop and smashed it past the keeper. 3 - 0.
Well done to Josh and Jack for Man Of The Match performances, it was great to see the boys back to thier best with some great passing football.
